THE THOUSAND FACES OF SAMURAI
For more than 50 years, Samurai brand has been a real icon on Italians’ tables. Today, more and more consumers choose our toothpicks: in 2018 Samurai increased its market share thanks to innovative proposals and a wide offer of everyday products, for different tastes and styles.

High quality is always rewarded! Samurai offers high quality and natural materials, which are managed in a sustainable and aware way:
  • Bamboo, a very high quality material coming from the unspoiled forests of GUILIN, in the southeast of China. To create Samurai skewers, we select only the top of the plant’s stem, whose strength, flexibility and resistance to heat and moisture make it ideal for food use.
  • White Birch, coming from the far north of China, where this plant grows up to 28 metres. To produce Samurai toothpicks and skewers we only use the central part of the trunk, which proves to be the strongest but also the more flexible part.
  • Pine, light and soft wood from the LINGSHAN area, in the southeast of China, not far from the GUILIN and GUANXI areas where our fine bamboo grows. 
STERIGENICS: UNIQUE QUALITY GUARANTEE OF ITS CATEGORY

SAMURAI makes use of radiation carried out by the Italian company Sterigenics, world leader of sterilisation processes.
  • Sterilisation in Italy, without chemical products, with higher control and safety of the process
  • Microbial load abatement on the finished product, without subsequent processing
  • Absence of any residue of chemical substances
     
MERIEUX: CERTIFICATION FOR FOOD CONTACT
SAMURAI has brilliantly passed the tests carried out ad hoc to guarantee food contact safety, among which:
  • Screening test of volatile and nonvolatile constituents: the material does not release any substances.
  • Sensory features in relation with food: tests show that products in contact with food do not alter neither taste nor smell.
